Kirkland Advises Climate Adaptive Infrastructure and S2G Investments in Growth Equity Investments in 38 Degrees North
Kirkland & Ellis represented Climate Adaptive Infrastructure, a leading investment firm focused on energy decarbonization and sustainable water infrastructure, and S2G Investments, a multi-stage investment firm focused on venture and growth-stage businesses across food & agriculture, oceans and energy, on growth equity investments into 38 Degrees North, alongside Kimmeridge Energy Management Company, LLC, an alternative asset manager focused on energy investments. In connection with this transaction, 38 Degrees North completed the acquisition of Kimmeridge-backed community solar developer U.S. Light Energy, including its pipeline of over 250 megawatts of projects.
38 Degrees North, a community solar and distributed renewables platform, previously closed a growth equity investment from S2G Investments in late 2023 and to date, has raised more than $230 million of total growth capital and successfully aggregated, financed, constructed and managed over 400 megawatts across over 100 projects.
