She has extensive experience in advising a variety of stakeholders, including borrowers, sponsors, creditors and other market participants on cross-border restructuring transactions and insolvencies.

Since joining Kirkland, Mallika has worked on the following matters:
Advising an ad hoc committee of creditors, including Strategic Value Partners, Cross Ocean and Deutsche Bank, on the successful $2.2 billion restructuring of the Intu SGS Group
Advising an ad hoc committee of creditors in relation to the restructuring transaction of SGS, implemented by way of a UK scheme of arrangement
Advising the Norwegian specialist cruise operator Hurtigruten on its holistic recapitalization transaction
Advising Cimolai S.p.A. and its parent, Luigi Cimolai Holding S.p.A., in relation to their respective restructuring plans under Part 26A of the Companies Act 2006, launched in parallel with concordato preventivo proceedings in Italy in order to effect a holistic recapitalisation transaction
Advising AlbaCore Capital on the restructuring of Babylon Health
Advising Venator Materials, PLC on their prepackaged Chapter 11 in Texas
Prior to joining Kirkland, Mallika worked on the following matters:
Advising the RCF lenders to soft commodity trader, ED&F Man, in relation to its latest restructuring implemented using cross-class cram down under a UK restructuring plan
Acting for the RCF lenders to Interserve plc on the most recent phase of its restructuring involving the spin-out of its construction business and a compromise of its defined benefit pension scheme liabilities
Advising the RCF lenders on New Look’s recapitalisation transaction
Advising the Intralot group on its liability management transactions
Advising the lenders and the receivers in relation to the OW Bunker group which went insolvent globally in November 2014
Advising a global conglomerate on a strategic review of its operations across various jurisdictions (including UK, France, South Africa, Switzerland and Canada) with a view to understand the impact of potential insolvency/restructuring of these local operations
Advising SIG plc (European supplier of specialist construction materials) on its recapitalisation and refinancing transaction
Advised a Nigeria based lender in relation to the restructuring of Seven Energy
Advising the coordinating committee of lenders on the first restructuring of Premier Oil’s restructuring and recapitalisaion transaction implemented via two Scottish schemes of agreement
Advising Russian Standard Finance on the recapitalisation of the Russian retail bank, implemented via a UK scheme of arrangement
