Christie Alcala is a partner in the Houston office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, and is a member of the Firm's Labor and Employment Practice Group. Christie has extensive experience with employment and labor aspects of U.S. and multi-jurisdictional business transactions. She also counsels clients on day-to-day HR and personnel issues, including wage and hour issues; implementation and drafting of employment-related policies and procedures; onboarding, terminations and reductions in force; union issues; internal investigations; drug testing; employee privacy rights; and the resolution of labor and employment-related disputes. In addition, Christie advises clients on non-competition and non-solicitation matters, and negotiates and drafts executive employment agreements, severance agreements and other employment-related contracts. Christie has represented employers in disputes involving wage and hour violations, employment contracts, discrimination, and other statutory and common law claims in state and federal agencies and trial and appellate courts in multiple jurisdictions
