Overview

Ahmed Alrikhaimi is a construction and projects partner in the Houston office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Ahmed's practice focuses on energy and infrastructure-related project development, financing and associated corporate transactions. Ahmed has extensive experience in preparing and negotiating agreements pertaining to a broad range of energy transactions and projects, including engineering, construction and procurement (EPC) contracts and related development agreements for the supply, maintenance and operation of major equipment. A mechanical engineer by training, Ahmed has represented project sponsors, owners and developers in a wide range of projects throughout the U.S. and the world in a broad range of energy sectors including oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, power generation and renewables (battery storage, solar and wind) with project values generally ranging from $100 million to over $2 billion in value. Ahmed has advised such clients in structuring their project development agreements by thoroughly assessing related geographic, commercial, technical and legal considerations.

Prior to law school, Ahmed worked as a mechanical engineer for an internationally recognized energy company where he was initially trained in central engineering, he then gained hands on experience in the field working as a process engineer at one of the largest oil & gas processing facilities in the world.
