Overview

Ahson Azmat is a litigation associate in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on antitrust advisory, regulatory, and trial work; commercial litigation; securities litigation; and appeals.

Since joining Kirkland, Ahson has been involved in the following matters:

  • Defending AI-driven clean energy company D&Os in federal and state securities actions arising from a de-SPAC merger.
  • Representing pharmaceutical firms in antitrust trial in the Eastern District of Virginia.
  • Advising Fortune 500 firms in connection with antitrust regulation and litigation exposure.
  • Representing Vista Equity Partners and portfolio company Mindbody in Delaware Chancery appraisal and fiduciary action trial.
  • Representing pharmaceutical manufacturers in multi-district reverse payment antitrust trial in the Northern District of Illinois.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Ahson was involved in the following matters:

  • Successfully briefing jurisdictional issues in New York state, Second Circuit, and Sixth Circuit courts.
  • Drafting trial and appellate court briefs concerning defamation and First Amendment controversies in New York and California state courts.
  • Preparing and conducting discovery and class cert disputes in complex commercial class actions.
