Overview

Aladdin Benali is an associate in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. Aladdin assists clients across the spectrum of environmental, social and governance issues. As part of the ESG & Impact Practice Group, Aladdin advises private equity firms, corporations, project sponsors and lenders on complex and evolving national and international ESG issues, ESG regulation, reporting frameworks and coalitions. 

Aladdin’s practice includes international climate law, sustainability and business and human rights. Aladdin’s experience includes advising on climate change, taxonomies and reporting, biodiversity, and business and human rights. He has assisted clients to develop and review ESG-related strategies, metrics and disclosures across jurisdictions under range of frameworks and advised clients on compliance with international frameworks such as the UN Principles for Responsible Investment, OECD Guidelines, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Aladdin also works on sustainability and human rights policy development and consultation, and is a member of Invest Europe’s SFDR Working Group.

On a pro bono basis, Aladdin assisted on a case before the International Criminal Court and advised the UK government on domestic business and human rights legislation.
