Overview

Chris Buxton is an associate in the Dallas office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patent and trade secret matters before the U.S. Federal Courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Chris has worked on various complex matters involving technologies spanning pharmaceuticals, medical devices, telecommunications and optical networks, video recording, FPGAs, semiconductors and digital rights management.

Chris's engineering background enables him to understand his clients technology and business needs, and to work closely with technical experts to develop creative legal solutions. Chris has experience in all phases of litigation, including pre-suit investigation, fact and expert discovery, pre-trial and trial. Notable highlights include successfully arguing for his client's claim construction positions in a Markman hearing and taking and defending depositions.
