Corina Demeter-Olive is an associate in the Technology & IP Transactions Practice Group in Kirkland’s London office. Corina advises clients on the intellectual property, technology and data protection aspects that arise in high value corporate transactions (including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, private equity investments and corporate reorganisations). Corina also assists clients with strategic partnerships, intellectual property and technology transfers and licenses, services agreements (including transitional services agreements), outsourcing arrangements and other complex commercial contracts.
Corina’s practice also covers cyber, data and privacy and she advises clients on compliance with the EU-UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) across a range of sectors (including software, life sciences, digital health, fashion tech and social media). Corina has obtained a Certified Information Privacy Professional certification for Europe (CIPP/E), which gives her in-depth understanding of pan-European laws, regulations and policy frameworks.
Corina has a keen interest in transactions which harness cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence/machine learning and blockchain.
Prior to joining Kirkland, Corina worked at Cooley (UK) LLP, where she gained broad experience counselling both established and fast-growth companies, primarily on intellectual property and technology-related transactions, as well as venture capital funds on their investments into emerging companies. Corina trained and worked at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, where she also spent time on secondment in the Paris office.
