Overview

Matthew Fagen is a restructuring partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice involves representing debtors and creditors in out-of-court restructurings and Chapter 11 cases. Matthew has a broad range of restructuring experience across multiple industries including retail, technology, and energy. The 2024 edition of Chambers USA noted, “he is super commercial and knows how to get a deal done.” The American Bankruptcy Institute selected Matthew for its 2023 list of “40 Under 40 - Emerging Leaders in Insolvency Practice.” Matthew was also recognized by The Legal 500 United States for Restructuring: Corporate, 2023.
