Overview

Mark Gillespie is a litigation associate in the Salt Lake City office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on complex trial and appellate litigation. Mark has extensive experience in briefing and strategy at all stages of the legal process, from initial pleadings to final appeals, in state and federal courts across the country. His work involves a wide range of legal subjects, from antitrust and bankruptcy to civil procedure and First Amendment issues.

Before joining Kirkland, Mark served as a law clerk to Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. on the U.S. Supreme Court and to Judge Britt C. Grant on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He graduated from Brigham Young University and Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.
