Amran Hanif is a partner in the Investment Funds Group in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. Credit funds of all types are a very significant part of Amran's practice, encompassing liquid credit, hybrid and less liquid private-equity-style credit strategies, including direct lending, mezzanine, distressed and credit opportunities funds. A number of the mandates Amran has worked on have had a cross-border element and Amran has been involved with the formation and launch of credit funds in most leading jurisdictions under a wide variety of regulatory regimes.
Amran also advises on the carried interest and co-investment arrangements associated with credit funds. In addition, Amran has represented institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, particularly in the Middle East, and insurance companies on their global investment programs.
