Jennifer Hardy is of counsel to the Litigation Practice Group in Kirkland's Washington, D.C., office, where her practice includes trial and appellate litigation before federal and state courts. Jennifer has broad experience representing clients in litigation matters involving environmental law, contracts, administrative law, constitutional law and the False Claims Act. Representative clients include Bechtel Corporation, Raytheon, Sunoco, BASF, the Boeing Company, Honeywell International Inc., Verizon Communications Inc. and Verizon Wireless.

Successful representation of Bechtel Corporation in an arbitration against ERS concerning the construction of a coal-fired power plant. Obtained favorable settlement before and issuance of an award.

Successful representation of Sunoco in litigation regarding long-term contract for the supply of coke. Obtained favorable settlement before briefing on Sunoco's motion to dismiss was even complete.

Successful representation of Raytheon in a putative class action toxic tort case. After briefing on Raytheon challenges to the plaintiffs' expert witnesses, plaintiffs dismissed their case and admitted a class could not be certified.
Before joining Kirkland, Jennifer was the Associate General Counsel for Legal Counsel for the Department of Homeland Security, where she headed an office responsible for advising the General Counsel. Prior to her position with the Department of Homeland Security, Jennifer served as the Special Assistant to the General Counsel of the Department of Defense, and as an attorney-adviser in the Office of Legal Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice.
Jennifer served as a law clerk to Judge Emilio M. Garza on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (2000–2001) and as a law clerk to Associate Justice Clarence Thomas on the Supreme Court of the United States (2004–2005).
