Candace Ho
Overview
Candace Ho is an associate in the Government, Regulatory & Internal Investigations Practice Group in the Hong Kong office of Kirkland & Ellis.
Candace has experience in handling both contentious and non-contentious regulatory matters as well as commercial disputes. She has represented financial institutions, corporations and individuals under investigation by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Securities and Futures Commission, the Independent Commission Against Corruption and the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force. She has also advised clients in cases involving cross-border commercial disputes, fraud and asset recovery, restructuring and insolvency and shareholders’ disputes.

Representative Matters
Prior to joining Kirkland & Ellis, Candace’s representative matters included:
- Acted for a state-owned, Hong Kong listed company to conduct an independent internal inquiry on irregularities arising from its acquisition of an SFC licensed corporation
- Acted for a US listed e-commerce company to carry out an internal investigation on matters relating to an ICAC investigation on bribery allegations against its senior management
- Represented the Hong Kong branch of a bank under investigation by the HKMA for anti-money laundering systems and internal control failures
- Represented licensed corporations and individuals under investigation by the SFC for matters including alleged IPO sponsor due diligence failures and other allegations of market misconduct
- Advised corporations and individuals in a number of fraud cases which involved applications to obtain Mareva injunctions and garnishee orders
