Overview

Andrew Jacobs is a partner in the Investment Funds Practice Group in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Before joining Kirkland, for over fifteen years, Andrew managed the non-investment functions of several leading hedge funds pursuing a variety of investment strategies. At Kirkland, he leverages his diverse experience as a Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and General Counsel to provide practical advice to open-end fund sponsors on a wide range of legal, operational and business matters.

Andrew has significant experience both in open-end private fund structuring and formation, as well as in all aspects of their ongoing business operations. He works with managers pursuing a wide array of investment strategies across a spectrum of liquidity profiles and features. Andrew also provides advice with respect to trading agreements and counterparty matters; service providers; policies, procedures, and sound practices; compliance; investor-related communications, agreements, and diligence; and front and back office personnel matters. He has negotiated seeding arrangements both as a seeded fund and as a fund seeder.
