In re Chesapeake Energy Corporation, et al. (Bankr. S.D. Tex.) — Trial counsel for Chesapeake Energy Corporation and 40 of its subsidiaries in their high-profile Chapter 11 cases and related litigation proceedings. In 2021, after a three-week trial against the official committee of unsecured creditors concerning confirmation and valuation issues, the court confirmed Chesapeake’s plan of reorganization.
In re Gulfport Energy Corp. (Bankr. S.D. Tex.) — Trial counsel to Debtor for disputed proof of claim.
ZF TRW Automotive — Defense counsel for ZF TRW in multidistrict litigation encompassing more than two dozen nationwide class actions alleging breach of warranty, fraud and other claims based on allegedly defective airbag control units.
Navient Solutions LLC — Counsel for Navient Solutions LLC in wide-ranging state AG litigation matters and government investigations regarding student loan origination, servicing and collection practices. Following years of litigation, Kirkland secured a complete, forty-state settlement in which the company maintained its express denial of any borrower harm and the claims brought against it.
