Jacquelyn Kasulis, the former Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, is a partner in the Government, Regulatory & Internal Investigations practice group in New York. Jackie has a broad practice focused on advising corporations, boards of directors and executives facing high-stakes, complex and multi-jurisdictional investigations and enforcement matters, including before the Department of Justice, the SEC and the CFTC.

Clients call upon Jackie based on her depth of leadership experience in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the E.D.N.Y., whose Criminal Division has one of the Department of Justice’s most active and sophisticated white collar crime programs. During her DOJ tenure, Jackie was the Chief of the Business & Securities Fraud Section, Chief of the Criminal Division and then Acting U.S. Attorney for the E.D.N.Y. Jackie regularly leads investigations related to financial fraud, securities enforcement, market manipulation, disclosure fraud, cryptocurrency and cybercrime, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act violations, economic sanctions, corruption and workplace compliance. She has been recognized by Chambers USA with a Band 2 ranking in White-Collar Crime and Government Investigations. Clients describe her as “smart, strategic and very easy to deal with,” as well as a “great strategist and tremendous advocate” and note her “incredible credibility with the government.”

During her 14 years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the E.D.N.Y., Jackie investigated and prosecuted a wide variety of criminal matters, including such high-profile matters as the prosecution and trial conviction of hedge fund manager and pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli, also known as “Pharma Bro,” and the investigation and prosecution of major financial institutions for various financial crimes. She frequently coordinated with the Fraud Section and Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Sections of DOJ’s Criminal Division, DOJ’s National Security Division, the FBI and the IRS, and domestic and foreign regulatory and enforcement authorities, including the SEC, the CFTC, the Federal Reserve Bank and the U.K. Serious Fraud Office.

Jackie, a regular speaker and author, has received several awards, including the Eastern District Association’s Charles E. Rose Award, the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation’s Prosecutor of the Year Award and the Assistant Attorney General’s Award. She also teaches a White Collar Crime seminar at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Program on Corporate Compliance & Enforcement at New York University School of Law and the New York City Bar Association’s White Collar Crime Committee. She is co-President of Davidson College’s New York City alumni chapter.
