- Trial counsel for Samsung in district court litigation against Techiya relating to earbud technology and involving counterclaims for trade secret misappropriation, aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, and civil conspiracy.
- Representation of Tupperware Brands Corporation and its debtor affiliates in their Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
- Representation of Carrier in putative nationwide class action relating to product-liability issues.
- Representation of Lightstone Generation in litigation over the coverage obligations of FM Global.
- Represented Cognizant Business Services in contract dispute related to failed systems implementation.
- Represented 3M Company in connection with the Combat Arms Earplugs multidistrict litigation, the largest MDL in U.S. history.
Prior to joining Kirkland, Mike’s representative matters included:
- Counsel to large public company in action defending against partnership and intellectual property claims.
- Trial counsel to closely-held corporation in case involving securities claims. Achieved complete defense verdict at trial.
- Trial counsel to state activities association in class-action case involving Constitutional claims. Achieved favorable decision finding no liability on behalf of client.
- Trial counsel to financial institution in breach of contract litigation involving claims against another financial institution.
- Counsel to court-appointed receiver in nation-wide tax fraud action. Argued for and secured dismissal of interlocutory appeal for lack of jurisdiction in U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
