Overview

Johnson Man is a registered foreign lawyer in the Debt Finance Practice Group, based in the Hong Kong office of Kirkland & Ellis. Johnson has experience advising on a range of financing transactions, including leveraged and acquisition financings, corporate financings and fund financings.

Before moving to Hong Kong, Johnson worked in Sydney in the Leveraged & Acquisition Finance Team of King & Wood Mallesons.

Prior to joining Kirkland & Ellis, Johnson’s representative matters included:

  • EQT Private Capital Asia on its financing for an acquisition of a health-related business in the Asia Pacific
  • EQT Infrastructure on the financing for its A$987 million acquisition of Stockland Retirement Living, one of the largest providers of senior living communities in Australia
  • A syndicate of international and Australian banks on financing relating to Brookfield’s proposed A$18.7 billion acquisition of Origin Energy, an ASX50 company and one of the largest electricity/gas companies in Australia
  • A BGH portfolio company in Australia on a dividend recapitalization and refinancing of A$575 million facilities
  • An Australian mid-market private equity fund on various fund financings
