Overview

Edward Prestwich is an investment funds partner in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP.

Edward primarily advises sponsors on the structuring, formation and operation of credit funds. He also advises on the structuring, formation and operation of private equity and infrastructure funds, as well as co-investment and carried interest arrangements.

Recent experience includes advising on traditional closed-ended funds, evergreen structures and separately managed accounts.

Since joining Kirkland, Edward’s matters have included advising:

  • Chorus Capital on the close of Fund V at $2.5 billion.
  • Funds managed by AGG Capital Management on the acquisition of a majority stake in AFE.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Edward’s matters included advising:

  • Hayfin Capital Management on its special opportunities strategy, raising in excess of €2.2 billion and on its European direct lending strategy, raising in excess of €5 billion.
  • Cross Ocean Partners on its second and third European special situations funds.
  • Ancala Partners on the establishment of its first and second infrastructure funds.
  • Mayfair Equity Partners on the raising of its private equity funds, the second of which closed at its £650 million hard cap.
  • Hollyport Capital on the raising of its seventh secondaries fund, which closed at its $1 billion hard cap.
