Overview

Brandon Short is a partner in the tax department of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Brandon's practice focuses on the tax and structuring aspects of forming, investment in and investment by private investment funds. He represents clients in connection with fund formation, mergers and acquisitions, secondary purchases and sales, strategic transactions, fund recapitalizations, minority investments and other complex business transactions.

Brandon maintains a robust pro bono practice, and represents individuals who fear return to their home countries at various stages of the asylum process. He also advises charitable organizations with respect to obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status.
