Stephen Tensmeyer

Overview

Stephen Tensmeyer is a litigation partner in the Salt Lake City office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He has a broad range of experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial disputes, including trials in state and federal courts, arbitrations and appeals. He has represented a diverse client base at all stages of litigation in a wide variety of subject areas, including trade secrets, intellectual property, consumer class actions, business torts, contracts, executive compensation and employment, among others.

Since joining Kirkland, Stephen has been involved in the following matters:

  • Trial counsel to the 3M Company in federal jury trial resulting in complete verdict for the client.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Stephen was involved in the following matters:

  • Counsel for life sciences company in contract dispute related to corporate acquisition. Achieved early, complete summary judgment victory for client.
  • Counsel for web-based products company in consumer data breach class action litigation.
  • Counsel for founder of web-based apparel company in multiple disputes, including state court trial, restructuring litigation and disputes, and related matters.
  • Counsel for healthcare data analytics company in trade secret and employment dispute related to analytics system.
