Jacob Walley is a tax partner in the Houston office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice includes a focus on the tax aspects of complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including private equity and real estate fund formations, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, tax-free spin-offs, restructurings, public offerings and other financings, as well as a focus on all aspects of tax controversy matters, including handling matters before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in examination, mediation, and appeals proceedings, and before the United States Tax Court.
