Overview

Benjamin Woodring is a litigation partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Ben has broad experience in all aspects of litigation and represents both defendants and plaintiffs in a diverse range of high stakes disputes.

Ben received his J.D. from Yale Law School. Before joining Kirkland, Ben practiced at a top litigation boutique, prior to which he clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit for the Honorable Scott M. Matheson and on the Northern District of Illinois for the Honorable Edmond E. Chang.

Counsel for major pharmaceutical company in False Claims Act case alleging off-label promotion and kickbacks.

Thrasio: Trial counsel to Thrasio Holdings, Inc. and 240 of its affiliates in their prearranged Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. Thrasio is the largest aggregator of Amazon brands in the world. Thrasio filed for Chapter 11 with a restructuring support agreement widely supported by its lenders that contemplates up to $90 million of new money financing and a comprehensive restructuring of over $3 billion of funded debt and preferred equity obligations.

Plastic Reclamation Partners v. MRC Polymers (Ill. Cir. Ct.): Counsel for plaintiff Plastic Reclamation Partners in dispute alleging sellers committed fraud in sale of plastic recycling technology. Representation ongoing.
