Philanthropy Awards - Finalist

Kirkland was named a finalist at the 2008 Philanthropy Awards, which were sponsored by the Washington Business Journal and Greater DC Cares. The awards ceremony, which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C., honored local companies and executives for their efforts supporting philanthropic groups and causes in the community.

Kirkland was recognized in the category of "Greatest Impact on a Local Nonprofit" for its work on behalf of Everybody Wins! D.C. Partner Mark Young is currently the chairman of the organization, which supports mentoring and literacy services for underserved students in public elementary schools throughout the Washington area.
