North America Awards
Managing Intellectual Property named Kirkland the "U.S. Patent Contentious Firm of the Year" for the second year in a row at the North American IP Awards in Washington, D.C. The Firm also won "Patent Contentious Firm of the Year" for the Northeast region for the second year in a row, as well as "Case of the Year" for its work on Tafas v. Dudas.
Kirkland was also shortlisted for "Patent Contentious Firm of the Year" for the Midwest region and for "Trademark Contentious Firm of the Year" for the Midwest and West regions. Partner John Desmarais was a nominee for "Outstanding IP Practitioner of the Year," an award he received from MIP last year.
The IP Awards reflect the best firms and attorneys within Managing Intellectual Property's World IP survey, which covers 70 international jurisdictions. The award winners were chosen by the magazine's research team, based on extensive interviews with peers and clients.
