Kirkland Named 2024 Law Firm of the Year by Texas Lawyer

Texas Lawyer recognized Kirkland & Ellis as the 2024 “Law Firm of the Year” as part of its annual Texas Legal Awards. The award goes to the law firm that accumulates the most honors across Texas Legal Awards categories, including those dedicated to dealmaking, litigation, mentoring, rising stars and diversity, equity and inclusion. Since opening its first office in the state more than a decade ago, Kirkland’s Texas presence has grown to nearly 500 attorneys across three offices in such core practice areas as Transactional, Litigation and Intellectual Property.

Kirkland first expanded to Texas in 2014 when the Houston office launched to better serve clients focused on the energy and infrastructure sectors. Since then, the office has grown to include over 240 attorneys and has become a leading player in Texas, uniquely qualified to handle sophisticated and complex energy and infrastructure matters for clients around the world.

The Firm’s Dallas office launched in 2018 to provide clients with access to the best legal talent in North Texas. The team now includes more than 130 lawyers handling an array of sophisticated transactions and litigation in Texas, the United States and globally.

Kirkland’s Austin office opened in 2021 with a team of established Kirkland lawyers who relocated, as well as local lateral hires. The Austin team provides advice to clients on sophisticated transactions and litigation in Texas and around the world in collaboration with colleagues across Kirkland’s global platform and leading practices.
