Three Kirkland Partners Recognized Among Crain’s New York’s Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consultancy & Law 2024

Crain’s New York Business named Kirkland & Ellis partners Erica Berthou, Sandra Goldstein and Joshua Sussberg to its 2024 list of “Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consultancy & Law.” Those recognized on this year’s list were chosen for advising on “high-stakes and high-profile cases” and for “growing legal practices,” while embodying “the spirit of New York in their creativity and achievement.”

Erica was noted by Crain’s New York for counseling “U.S. and international sponsors on hundreds of billions of dollars of fund formations across a variety of strategies” during the course of her career, on behalf of such clients as Blackstone, Oaktree Capital and TPG.

Sandra was lauded for recent litigation victories on behalf of Constellation Brands, including securing in March 2023 “a unanimous verdict after a two-week trial against Grupo Modelo, which is owned by Anheuser-Busch, by persuading the jury that hard seltzer is beer under the applicable contract.” In March 2024, Sandra led a team that successfully argued the defense of the Second Circuit appeal, advancing several arguments for Constellation.

Josh was noted for advising “distressed companies in all industries, including entertainment, restaurants, health care, retail, cryptocurrency and energy.”
