Kirkland Partners Nisha Kanchanapoomi and Diana Torres Named Among L.A. Business Journal’s 2025 Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys

The Los Angeles Business Journal named Kirkland & Ellis partners Nisha Kanchanapoomi and Diana Torres to its 2025 list of “Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys.” Those attorneys selected to this year’s list were “considered to be particularly impactful on the legal scene while serving as trusted advisors in the LA region.”

Nisha was recognized for representing many “household brand names,” including Bed Bath and Beyond Inc. and Neiman Marcus group and for working on transactions totalling more than $10 billion last year. Diana was recognized for representing PepsiCo and AECOM in high-profile intellectual property lawsuits.

Nisha’s practice focuses on debt financing transactions, and she represents private equity sponsors, hedge funds, public and private companies and financial institutions in secured and unsecured financings, cash-flow and asset-based facilities, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, cross-border transactions, workouts and restructurings, and first lien-second-lien, mezzanine, subordinated and unitranche financings. Nisha has negotiated and closed transactions in a diverse group of industries, including the technology, energy, entertainment, media, retail, healthcare and life sciences industries.

Diana focuses her practice on false advertising, unfair competition, trademark, copyright, and trade secrets matters, and has handled high-stakes matters for clients including biometric information security software developers, consumer product manufacturers, fitness service providers, entertainment and media companies, and Internet service providers.
