Kirkland Advises Silver Lake in Chinese Clean Technology Investment

Kirkland & Ellis has advised Silver Lake, a global leader in private investments in technology and technology-enabled industries, in its first investment in China’s expanding clean technology industry.

Silver Lake has invested in Nobao Renewable Energy Holdings Limited, a Shanghai-based provider of energy efficiency technologies and China’s leading developer of geothermal technology to power heating, cooling and hot water supply systems in buildings. The financial terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

Corporate partner XY Li and associate Mark Horvick in Shanghai led the global Kirkland team, which also included consultant Jing Li and associate Cynthia Wang in Shanghai, partner Mike Carew and associate James “Trey” Hart III in Chicago, and corporate partner David Patrick Eich in Hong Kong.
