Kirkland & Ellis ranks in the highest tiers in the latest U.K. rankings from the following leading publications:

Tier 1 for Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency in The Legal 500 UK 2019
Tier 1 for Restructuring (bondholder and fund representation) in IFLR1000 2019

The Times also named Kirkland to its “Best Law Firms 2019” guide, with a specific commendation for the firm's insolvency & restructuring work.

These latest accolades cite the U.K. restructuring team’s “outstanding reputation in the restructuring market for handling high-value cross-border cases” (Chambers UK) and “incredibly deep bench strength” (Legal 500 UK). The firm is also recognized for taking “pride in its ability to bring together multidisciplinary teams able to provide the full-service capabilities required by clients” (The Times).

Partners Kon Asimacopoulos, Partha Kar, Sean Lacey, Elaine Nolan and James Watson are individually identified as “market leaders,” “leading lawyers,” “highly regarded” or “recommended lawyers” in this field.

In addition to Kirkland's top-tier rankings in the U.K., the firm has obtained Tier 1 rankings in each of the jurisdictions in which the restructuring group operates, namely the U.S., Asia and Germany. Kirkland's worldwide practice is ranked in Tier 1 global-wide in Chambers Global 2018 and has been the No. 1 firm in Global Restructuring Review's GRR 30 rankings for two years running.
