Funds Partner Victor Levy Joins Kirkland & Ellis in New York
Kirkland & Ellis is pleased to announce that Victor Levy has joined the Firm as a partner in the Investment Funds Group in the New York office.
Mr. Levy focuses on the formation and ongoing representation of private equity funds and hedge funds. He has extensive experience representing domestic and international fund sponsors in structuring and establishing private equity funds focused on a variety of strategies, including credit (spanning all sub-strategies across the credit spectrum e.g., direct lending, distressed debt, non-performing and performing traded debt, high yield debt, special situations and structured credit), real estate and infrastructure. Mr. Levy also advises sponsors establishing managed accounts and funds of one, as well as in negotiating and structuring their internal partner compensation arrangements. Mr. Levy regularly represents established managers sponsoring new funds, as well as high-quality emerging managers sponsoring first-time funds, to invest in U.S. and non-U.S. markets.

In 2020 alone, Kirkland’s investment funds group advised on over 135 credit funds for more than 50 unique credit sponsors.

Mr. Levy has been recognized by The Legal 500 United States in its 2016 through 2021 editions, including being ranked as a “Next Generation Lawyer” in its 2017, 2018 and 2019 editions for “Investment Fund Formation & Management − Private Equity Funds.” He received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law.
Mr. Levy joins Kirkland from the New York office of Clifford Chance, where he was a partner in its Private Funds & Investment Management Group.
