Investment Funds Partner Thomas Laverty to Join London Office of Kirkland
Kirkland & Ellis International LLP is pleased to announce that Thomas Laverty will join the Firm’s London office as a partner in the Investment Funds Group. Mr. Laverty was most recently Managing Director and Funds Counsel at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), a division of Macquarie Group and the world’s largest infrastructure asset manager.
“We are delighted that Thomas has joined Kirkland,” said Richard Watkins, a London-based investment funds partner. “He joins us as we continue to expand our offering across real assets — his unique experience and perspective will be highly attractive to a broad range of real asset fund sponsors.”
Chicago-based investment funds partner, Kelly Ryan, who focuses on real estate and other real asset investment funds, added: “The addition of Thomas in Europe expands our global real asset offering significantly at a time when our real asset fund sponsor clients are raising and investing capital on an increasingly geographically diversified basis.”
Mr. Laverty holds an LLB (Hons) from Trinity College, Dublin, and qualified as a solicitor with Ashurst, formerly working in that firm’s London, Paris and Tokyo offices.
