Overview

Amal Awad is an associate in the Investment Funds Team in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. Amal represents clients with respect to all aspects of the structuring, fundraising and operation of private investment funds with a focus on private equity, special opportunity, infrastructure, growth, venture capital and credit funds. Amal also has experience advising on a variety of commingled and fund-like structures, including funds-of-one, separate managed accounts, co-investments and joint ventures.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Amal worked on the following matters, advising:

  • A US-headquartered sponsor on the raising of its flagship public-private finance vehicle focused on investing in climate infrastructure across emerging markets in Asia, Latin America and Africa.
  • A US-headquartered sponsor on the formation and fundraising of its diversified private debt fund.
  • A US-headquartered sponsor on the fundraising of its global climate infrastructure fund focused on renewable power generation across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
  • A UK-based venture capital sponsor in the formation and fundraising of its early-stage funds.
  • A UK-based sponsor on its full range of open and closed-ended global infrastructure funds.
  • A UK-based renewables sponsor on the acquisition of a portfolio of wind farms across the US.
  • A European private debt manager on the formation and fundraising of its senior loan funds and associated vehicles.
