Michael DelRossi is an intellectual property associate in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, focusing on patent infringement litigation and other intellectual property matters before the U.S. Federal Courts and the International Trade Commission. Michael’s patent litigation practice spans the life sciences field, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and the telecommunications and semiconductors industry. Michael’s experience encompasses the litigation lifecycle, including drafting and responding to pleadings, managing discovery, preparing for and assisting in depositions, working with technical experts, drafting Markman, Daubert, and summary judgment briefs, and handling various trial and post-trial issues.
Apart from intellectual property litigation, Michael also has experience with internal investigations, both public and private. As one public example, Michael served on the team that in 2023 completed the investigation of Stanford University President Marc Tessier-Lavigne on behalf of Stanford’s board regarding allegations of research misconduct.
Michael maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on the representation of individuals seeking relief from sentencing and/or conviction in death penalty matters. Michael also works on pro bono matters relating to asylum and other immigration issues.
