Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

Ryan Kane, Gregg LoCascio, Grace Brier, Mary-Kathryn Hawes, Mara Greenberg, Michael DelRossi and Annie Chan were recognized as runners-up for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for their work for Pacira Pharmaceuticals.

"... A Kirkland & Ellis team led by Ryan Kane helped Pacira Pharmaceuticals win a legal battle with Research Development Foundation, or RDF, over royalties for Pacira’s Exparel post-surgical pain treatment—a drug that generated more $500 million in sales for the company last year. After a four-day bench trial, U.S. District Judge Cristina Silva in Las Vegas found last week that Pacira showed “significant innovation” went into making its new process for manufacturing Expira and that it wasn’t subject to its earlier royalty agreement with RDF. Kane handled the opening and closing arguments during the bench trial. The team also included Gregg LoCascio, Grace Brier, Mary-Kathryn Hawes, Mara Greenberg, Michael DelRossi and Annie Chan."
