Overview

Daniel McQuade is a partner of Kirkland’s market-leading Investment Funds Practice Group, advising private equity firms for over 12 years in all aspects of their business and operations. Dan concentrates his practice on representing domestic and international private fund sponsors in connection with structuring, negotiating, forming and operating private investment funds, including buyout funds, growth equity funds, debt funds and other private investment vehicles, including single asset funds and special purpose vehicles. Dan is also a leader of Kirkland’s emerging manager practice and has extensive experience advising first-time fund sponsors and independent sponsors in navigating the unique challenges they encounter in establishing their firms.

Dan routinely counsels sponsors on ordinary and extraordinary Firmwide and fund-specific economic, governance, transactional and operational matters including carry and fee plans, succession planning, product development, co-investments, secondaries, investor relations, investment warehousing, compliance and strategic transactions, including minority sales of management company interests. In addition, Dan provides counsel on fund-related matters with respect to private equity mergers and acquisitions, financings, restructurings and other corporate transactions.
