Jasmina Resic is a partner in the Investment Funds Practice Group in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
Jasmina’s practice focuses on advising a broad range of asset managers and private fund sponsors with respect to a variety of legal, compliance and regulatory matters relating to their investment management businesses. Jasmina regularly counsels clients on matters arising under the Investment Advisers Act, the Investment Company Act and related U.S. federal securities laws and regulations, including:
- Investment adviser structuring, registration, governance and ongoing compliance with federal securities laws and SEC regulations;
- The formation, offering and ongoing operation of private equity funds, private credit funds, venture capital funds and real estate funds;
- SEC examinations, investigations and enforcement actions; and
- Investment company status issues in connection with capital markets and financing transactions.
Jasmina also advises clients on complex business transactions involving asset managers including mergers and acquisitions, adviser-led secondary transactions, GP minority sales and other strategic transactions.
