Served as trial counsel for Allergan in bellwether cases in New York state court and federal court in San Francisco, both of which resulted in settlements prior to closing arguments.
Vantage Specialty Chemicals: Litigation counsel defending Vantage in suits alleging personal injury and class claims based on exposure to ethylene oxide from a production facility in Gurnee, Illinois.
Exactech Polyethylene Orthopedic Device Litigation (MDL): Counsel for TPG Inc. in nationwide mass tort alleging TPG portfolio company, Exactech, designed and manufactured defective knee, hip, and ankle implants. The Kirkland team secured a ruling dismissing TPG from the MDL, a key precedent for other alternative asset management firms moving forward in indirect liability cases. The win earned a “Litigator of the Week” shout-out from The American Lawyer.
Philadelphia Energy Solutions: Represented the East Coast’s largest refinery in a bankruptcy adversary lawsuit seeking business interruption and property damage coverage arising from a catastrophic explosion. Case settled favorably before and during trial.
