Adam Watterson is a restructuring partner in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. Adam has experience advising debtors and creditors on cross-border restructurings and insolvencies, administrations, CVAs and schemes of arrangement.
Adam also advises investment banks, hedge funds and private equity houses in their review and diligence of European investment opportunities in par, stressed and distressed transactions.

Genesis Care – Advising on all aspects of its financial restructuring by way of parallel UK consent consent solicitation and parallel Chapter 11 restructuring process (2023).
Pronovias – Advising on all aspects of its financial restructuring by way of consensual consent solicitation and parallel Spanish restructuring plan (2023).
Ad hoc committee of jumbo and convertible lenders to Spanish steel manufacturing company, Celsa – Advising in the first use of the Spanish Restructuring Plan procedure (2022).
Ad hoc group of lenders – Advising in connection with confidential Chinese real estate enforcement (2022).
NMC Healthcare – Advising the joint administrators of NMC Healthcare LTD and certain subsidiaries in connection with its novel administration funding facility, non-core asset sales and the core group restructuring process (2021-2022).
DeepOcean – Advising DeepOcean with respect to its financial restructuring and wind down of its cable laying and trenching business, implemented by way of three parallel Restructuring Plans, including the first use of a cross-class cram-down in England under a Restructuring Plan (2021).
PizzaExpress – Advising PizzaExpress in relation to its financial restructuring, including the second use of a Restructuring Plan in the UK and its operational restructuring pursuant to a CVA (2020).
AllSaints – Advising AllSaints in relation to the launch of two CVAs, including the first U.S. recognition of a landlord CVA, the first Canadian recognition of a CVA and the first compromise of U.S. and Canadian leases via a CVA (2020).

Bartec – Advising security agent with respect to the recapitalisation of the Bartec Group (2019).
Boparan – Advising lender and arranger (fund) and the facility and security agent in relation to the rescue refinancing of Boparan (2019).
DIA – Advising fund creditors in relation to the EUR 1.1bn restructuring of a Spanish discount supermarket chain Distribuidora Internacional de Alimentación, including the restructuring of its international operations in Argentina, Brazil and Portugal (2019).
Steinhoff – Advising facility and security agent in relation to the EUR 9.6bn restructuring of the Steinhoff Group (2019).
Advising secured real estate financier in relation to receivership and non-consensual enforcement of UK leasehold property portfolio (2019).
General Healthcare Group / BMI Healthcare – Advising majority senior noteholder in relation to the corporate and financial restructuring of the propco financing structure of the General Healthcare Group / BMI Healthcare (2018).
Quintis – Advising debenture holders in relation to receivership, recapitalisation and debt restructuring of agricultural business Quintis via scheme of arrangements and deed of company arrangement procedures (2018).
Commonwealth Bank of Australia – Advising Commonwealth Bank of Australia on its acquisition of mortgage aggregation business eChoice via pre-packaged administration (2017).
Boart Longyear – Advising Boart Longyear in relation to the recapitalisation and restructuring of its USD $738m US-denominated finance debt via scheme of arrangement (2017).
