Kirkland recently achieved a significant win for Motorola Solutions when a jury awarded the company $764.6 million in a trade secret and copyright infringement case against competitor Hytera Communications.

The case involved one of the largest technology thefts from a major American tech company in history. Hytera stole and used more than 10,000 highly confidential Motorola technical documents and millions of lines of confidential Motorola source code to build a competing business that undercut Motorola’s prices. The case also involved numerous non-IP issues, including massive document destruction, witnesses pleading the Fifth, and Hytera’s attempt to conceal the theft for a decade.
