Private Equity International Awards

Kirkland was named Law Firm of the Year in North America (Fund Formation) and Law Firm of the Year in North America (Transactions) at the 2014 Private Equity International (PEI) Awards. In the Fund Formation category, the Firm was recognized for its work on funds including Vista Equity Partners’ $5.8 billion Fund V, Warburg Pincus’ $4 billion Energy Fund, Energy Capital Partners’ $5 billion Fund III and GTCR’s $3.85 billion Fund XI.

In the Transactions category, PEI noted that “2014 saw the firm advise on some of the biggest deals of the year for some of private equity’s heaviest hitters,” including Madison Dearborn’s $6.25 billion sale of Nuveen Investments, Vista Equity Partners’ $4.3 billion take-private of TIBCO Software, Thoma Bravo’s $2.5 billion acquisition of Compuware and Blackstone Energy Partners’ investment in Windy Cove Energy. Award winners were determined by votes of readers of Private Equity International and subscribers of PrivateEquityOnline.com.
