The Deal Awards 2021

The Deal honored Kirkland & Ellis with 11 awards at the annual Deal Awards.

Kirkland was named “Debtor Counsel of the Year – (Large Cap)” and “Consumer, Retail, Food & Beverage Law Firm of the Year (Middle Market).” Additionally, Restructuring partner Josh Sussberg was named “Debtor Counsel of the Year (Large Cap).”

The Firm was also honored with the following “Deal of the Year” awards:

• Consumer, Retail, Food & Beverage Deal of the Year (Middle Market) – GoPuff buys fellow delivery company BevMo!
• Cross-Border Deal of the Year (Large Cap Only) – Warburg-backed Allied Universal Security acquires G4S
• Deal of the Year (Middle Market) – Fox acquires over-the-top content platform Tubi
• Energy & Industrials Deal of the Year – WillScot acquires Mobile Mini
• Most Innovative Deal of the Year (Middle Market) – Gogo sells commercial aviation Wi-Fi business to Intelsat
• Private Equity Deal of the Year (Large Cap) – Thoma Bravo’s sells Ellie Mae to Intercontinental Exchange
• Restructuring Deal of the Year (Large Cap) – J.C. Penney sells assets for following restructuring
• Technology, Media & Telecom Deal of the Year (Middle Market) – Fox acquires over-the-top content platform Tubi

The fourth annual awards program hosted by The Deal recognizes the advisors and service providers who power the deal economy. Honorees were selected based on peer nominations and interviews with analysts and experts.
