Dealmakers of the Year 2024

The American Lawyer recognized Kirkland & Ellis partners Josh Sussberg and Ciara Foster among its 2024 “Dealmakers of the Year.” Josh and Ciara were recognized for Kirkland’s representation of Cineworld Group plc and 104 of its debtor affiliates in their chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. The ultimate plan of reorganization, executed in July 2023, allowed for the release of $4.53 billion in debt, $800 million in equity capital and $1.46 billion in exit financing.

Honorees are recognized for creative lawyering to novel issues of law in the deals that mattered most in 2023.
