Kirkland Ranks Atop Numerous 2024 League Tables of Legal Advisers to M&A
In the Full Year 2024 M&A and Private Equity league tables, Kirkland & Ellis ranked #1 in several categories. Bloomberg, in an article detailing Kirkland’s success in its annual league tables, noted the Firm for leading a number of major transactions in 2024, including:
• Advising snack food maker Kellanova in its $36 billion sale to Mars Inc., the year’s largest deal;
• Advising Marathon Oil Corp. in its $17 billion sale to ConocoPhillips; and
• Advising Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) in its $12.5 billion sale to BlackRock.
“The BlackRock-GIP deal was an exciting deal because it really showed the trend of potential consolidation amongst GPs, which was interesting,” Andrew Calder, Kirkland partner and Firm Executive Committee member, told Bloomberg. “We also had a nice spread across multiple sectors in a relatively challenging M&A environment.”
Kirkland ranked #1 in the following league table categories for 2024:
