Kirkland Receives Three Honors at IFLR’s 2025 Asia-Pacific Awards
International Financial Law Review (IFLR) recognized Kirkland in three categories at its 2025 Asia-Pacific Awards, which celebrate legally innovative teams, deals and individuals in the region. Partner Joey Chau was named to the “Women Dealmakers Hall of Fame,” and the Firm won:
- M&A Deal of the Year – L’Occitane Groupe / L’Occitane International
- Loan Deal of the Year – EQT Partners Asia acquisition financing
Joey co-heads the strategic M&A practice in Asia, with a particular focus on take-private transactions in Hong Kong. She is also a member of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel and the Takeovers Appeal Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong. In 2024, Joey advised on eight of the 31 take-private transactions announced in Hong Kong, including the privatizations of L’Occitane and ESR. Notably, the total value of the eight deals Kirkland advised on represents more than half of the overall value of all 31 take-privates announced in Hong Kong in 2024.
