Best Lawyers to Honor Four Kirkland & Ellis Partners
Kirkland & Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that four senior partners will be honored by Best Lawyers, the oldest lawyer-rating directory in the United States. Frank Cicero, Jr., Stephen Fraidin, John S. Irving, Jr. and Jack S. Levin will be honored at the 25th Anniversary Event in Atlanta, Georgia, in April 2009. The event will celebrate the distinguished careers of the 1,397 lawyers who have been listed in the publication since its inception in 1983.

Mr. Cicero is a litigation partner in Kirkland's Chicago office. His areas of practice include antitrust and trade regulation, criminal and civil fraud and securities law, trademark and patent claims, commercial contracts, construction litigation, libel, slander, and First Amendment cases, tax disputes, trade secrets, unfair competition, employment contracts, international arbitrations and litigation, dealer and franchise relationships and terminations, trust, estates and ERISA disputes, product liability and warranty claims.
Mr. Fraidin is a corporate partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis. His practice focuses on the representation of major companies and investment groups, acquisitions, proxy contests and the representation of special committees and boards of directors regarding mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and other matters.
Mr. Irving is of counsel in Kirkland's Washington, D.C., office. He focuses his practice on labor and employment litigation and counseling on mergers, acquisitions and consolidations, downsizing, plant relocations, union representation elections, labor negotiations, strikes and lockouts, NLRB unfair labor practices, arbitration, wage and hour, wrongful discharge and equal employment.
Mr. Levin is a corporate partner in Kirkland's Chicago office. He concentrates his practice on complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, buyouts, private equity and venture capital investing, formation of private equity funds, debt and equity restructurings and workouts, and executive compensation, with emphasis on tax, corporate, SEC, and structuring aspects, handling transactions which range in size from several million dollars to more than $7 billion.
