Kirkland Advises Oaktree Capital Management in Growth Equity Investment and Joint Infrastructure Vehicle with REEF
Kirkland & Ellis represented funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., in their investment in REEF, announced today. REEF’s $700 million growth equity funding round was led by Mubadala Capital, with Oaktree, SoftBank Vision Fund, UBS Asset Management and Target Global also participating. Additionally, and separately, REEF and Oaktree established Neighborhood Property Group, a $300 million joint infrastructure vehicle to acquire strategic real estate assets. Neighborhood Property Group is expected to make long-term investments in neighborhood infrastructure in order to provide REEF’s innovative proximity services to communities across the U.S.
The Kirkland team representing Oaktree in the equity financing was led by transactional partners Hamed Meshki and Nathan Davis, and included associate Tracy Reyes, as well as tax partners Mike Beinus, Meredith Levy and Vivek Ratnam.
