Kirkland Strengthens Tax Practice with Addition of Michael Ehret as Partner

Kirkland & Ellis is pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Ehret will join its tax practice as a partner in the Munich office.

Dr. Ehret focuses his practice on tax law issues related to mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and financings. In particular, he advises on domestic and international M&A, private equity, acquisition financing, capital markets and real estate transactions.

“We are excited to add a lawyer of Michael’s caliber to our tax practice in Germany as our Munich office continues to grow and attract complex and high-profile mandates from leading private equity sponsors and corporations,” said Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland’s Executive Committee.

"Michael is an outstanding tax lawyer with an excellent track record. With his many years of experience he will further strengthen our Munich team,” said Benjamin Leyendecker, a private equity partner in Kirkland’s Munich office.

Dr. Ehret joins Kirkland from Allen & Overy, where he was a tax partner in the Frankfurt office.
