Kirkland Advises Powin on Growth and Strategic Equity Investments
Kirkland & Ellis advised Powin, a global leader in energy storage solutions, in connection with a recently announced $135 million growth equity investment in Powin led by GIC, Singapore’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, with participation from existing lead investors Trilantic Energy Partners North America and Energy Impact Partners.
In a separate transaction announced on June 15, 2022, Kirkland also advised Powin in a strategic equity funding investment from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, a fund managed on behalf of Samsung C&T, a global Engineering Procurement and Construction firm that has built some of the world's most iconic infrastructure projects.
The investments extend Powin’s leadership position in grid-scale energy storage and epitomize its mission to lead the sustainable transformation and decentralization of the world’s outdated electrical grids.
