Kirkland Represents BC Partners in Acquisition of GFL Environmental Inc.’s Environmental Services Business

Kirkland & Ellis counseled investment funds advised by BC Partners on a definitive agreement to purchase GFL Environmental Inc.’s (NYSE: GFL) (TSX: GFL) Environmental Services business, which is valued at $8 billion. The BC Funds are purchasing the business alongside Apollo (NYSE:APO). The transaction was announced January 7, 2025. As part of the deal, GFL will retain a $1.7 billion equity interest in the Environmental Services business and expects to realize cash proceeds from the transaction of approximately $6.2 billion net of the retained equity and taxes.
